In front of a roaring home crowd in Indianapolis, the Indiana Pacers outlasted the Oklahoma City Thunder 116–107 in Game 3 of the 2025 NBA Finals, seizing a crucial 2–1 series lead behind an electric bench performance and a late fourth-quarter takeover.
After a tightly contested first half that saw the Thunder take a 56–53 lead into the break, Indiana’s depth proved decisive. Bennedict Mathurin erupted for 27 points off the bench, the highest by a reserve in a Finals game since Jason Terry in 2011. He hit tough contested jumpers, slashed to the rim, and brought a much-needed spark every time Oklahoma City threatened to pull away.
Tyrese Haliburton continued his all-around brilliance with 22 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds, dictating tempo and knocking down timely threes. But it was T.J. McConnell’s disruptive defense—with 5 steals and relentless on-ball pressure—that shifted the momentum midway through the fourth. The Indiana Pacers closed the game on a 32–18 run, flipping a 4-point Thunder lead into a 9-point victory.
For Oklahoma City, Jalen Williams led the scoring with 26 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 24, and Chet Holmgren contributed 20 with some impressive stretches on both ends. But the Oklahoma City Thunder unraveled under Indiana’s intensity in the final quarter, shooting just 35% from the field and committing 19 turnovers in the game—several of them at crucial moments.
Indiana’s bench outscored OKC’s 49–18, and that depth proved to be the difference. With the home crowd behind them and their role players shining, the Pacers now have a chance to push the Thunder to the brink in Game 4 on Friday, June 13.
This win marked the first NBA Finals home game in Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis in 24 years—and the Pacers made it count.
